Ramadan Kareem! & Your health??

First of all, I'd like to wish everyone Ramadan Kareem!! I can't believe how quick time passes by! and Ramadan is here already!!!

The preparations of Ramadan and taraweeh and nasheeds just makes everything perfect! There's energy in the air! Everything seems more lively to me! is that only to me or you guys too feel this way??

Now Ramadan is here, so I was thinking what about a post for your health during Ramadan?
First of all, if you have diabetes or cholesterol or any other problems, I'd definitely suggest Hujama, I get it done and it would be great for you to get it done before Ramadan or since its already started, now would be a great time too. It keeps you healthy and will help a lot with your health so fasting will be a lot easier, and your chances of getting ill will be reduced In Shaa ALLAH. And no its not painful and it seems scary but no its not! Trust me!!

Second thing I'd like to talk about is thirst! Since its June and the heat is some days unbearable, which Allah does make it easier in Ramadan Ma Shaa ALLAH! but there are some ways to prevent it. Try eating yogurt in Sahoor. Also you can make a drink that has Water, yogurt, ice, and a pinch salt for taste. Blend it and drink it in Sahoor, not only will this quench your thirst but also keep the heat away!

Another thing is of course Energy! We lose alot of energy while fasting in the heat. but lucky Allah has blessed us with the the delicious fruit DATES!! Eating 3 dates in Sahoor will give you energy through out the day.Breaking your fast during Iftar with Dates will also keep your blood sugar normal! Yup we want that!!

We also can't drink water so how about drinking water every half hour from Iftari to Sahoor, that way you skin will remain fresh and won't loose its glow!

Exercising? Taraweeh and all the prayers are great and easy exercises. Not only for the body but also for the mind and soul!

Now please people please no fizzy drinks! Try to avoid those! Bad for your kidney and pretty much everything else! how about infused water?! That's tasty and healthy! you can just make it after sahoor and keep it in the refrigerator and take it out during Iftar! Its delicious!

And of course last but not least if you are a desi, you know what the next topic is! :-P Thats right! Try to avoid the fried food. Now I myself am a Fried Food junkie. No iftari is complete without my Aloo (potatoes) Pakoras! Now since we cant completely avoid it, how about eating in moderation! Try to eat more fruits! That way you'll eat less fried food! Also try different techniques, prefer baking instead of frying. Use Wheat flour instead of White Flour! and things like that! Have Whole Wheat pizza for iftari, and whole wheat waffles for Sehri! The possibilities are endless!!

That's so much as I can think of so far! :) Tell me your ideas and suggestions! and lets try these things. Nothing is difficult! Keep me in your prayers guys!! and Ramadan Mubarak! May Allah shower us all with his blessings this Ramadan and May he forgive us and make us better human beings! Ameen!!! :)
